A new Banking Hub has opened in Newquay town centre, marking the return of banking services to Bank Street after the closure of all traditional high-street branches in recent years.
The hub, located in the former M&Co store at 43 Bank Street, brings everyday banking services from multiple high-street banks under one roof. It follows the closure of Lloyds and NatWest branches in the town, as well as the more recent closure of Lloyds’ Chester Road branch earlier this year.
The facility offers counter services operated by the Post Office, providing personal and business banking, cash withdrawals, deposits and bill payments. These services are available Monday to Friday.
Customers will also have access to staff from individual banks on set days of the week. The current schedule includes:
• Monday: Lloyds & Halifax
• Tuesday: Barclays
• Wednesday: To be confirmed
• Thursday: HSBC
• Friday: NatWest
The shared hub model has been introduced in towns across the UK where traditional bank branches have closed, aiming to maintain in-person access to cash and banking support.
