The Micro Mystery Word

The Micro Mystery Word

We have a £1,000 winner in the longest-running Micro Mystery Word game

Congratulations to Jon Goodman from Newquay, who has won £1,000 after correctly identifying "Facsimile" as the Micro Mystery Word.

The clue was revealed on Friday, and Jon correctly guessed the Latin word that gave us "fax".

The competition, sponsored by Micro DIY, has been running since October, making it the longest Micro Mystery Word game to date.

A brand-new game will be launching very soon, so keep listening to Radio Newquay for your chance to play and win.

The Micro Mystery Word can be heard weekday mornings at 8.20am. Enter now...

Radio Newquay is giving you a chance to win cash in our ever-increasing prize pot.

We've teamed up with Micro DIY - Newquay's one stop shop for all your DIY and building needs, and all you need to do is identify The Micro Mystery Word to win the cash!

Listen to the clip below, and see if you can identify the word which has been disguised by the Micro power drill! (TIP: Despite the name Micro Mystery Word, the answer can be any length!)

How do I play?

We play weekday mornings at 8:20am. Submit your guess using the form below by 6pm the day before.

Each day, at random, we will read out three guesses until one lucky entrant identifies the Micro Mystery Word. Listen to Radio Newquay on 106.1FM, on RadioNewquay.com, the app or via your smartspeaker to hear if your guess is read out.

Remember, only a correct guess read out on Radio Newquay will win the prize total, which increases by £25 each week.

HINT: The answer is one word not two

Terms and Conditions

We use a random generator to find our three daily entrants. Please note, we DO NOT see the guesses until the entrants have been randomly selected.

In the event of a tie, we will use a random generator to find a winner.

You can only enter once per day, and entries close at 6pm the night before (6pm Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). We do not play on Bank Holidays when guesses will be rolled over to the next available weekday.

Suggestions that have already been used on air will be skipped (please check the list below to make sure yours has not already been ruled out).

Entrants must be 18 years old and over.

This competition is run in conjunction with Radio Newquay's standard terms and conditions, which are available to view here.
