Ten skydivers to take a 10,000 leap of faith to raise funds for St Francis Dogs Home

The group want to raise £2,000 to fund the ongoing care of a French Bulldog and her five puppies.

The fundraising challenge on Sunday, October 11th is inspired by Queenie, who arrived at the Newquay charity underweight and heavily pregnant. She required an emergency Caesarean section to safely deliver her five puppies, costing the charity £2,500.

Queenie and her puppies are now recovering well, with the pups five weeks old and growing stronger. However, the charity say the family still needs food, veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping and preparation before they can find their forever homes.

A spokesperson for St Francis Dogs Home said: "The 10 skydivers are taking on this incredible challenge to help give Queenie and her puppies the happy ending they deserve. Among those taking part is one courageous skydiver who will be completing the jump in memory of her beloved dog, Kizzy.

"Her story adds an especially poignant meaning to the challenge — and she will also be completing the skydive as an amputee, demonstrating extraordinary courage while helping raise money for dogs who, like Kizzy, have left an unforgettable paw print on the hearts of those who love them.

"For the team, this isn't simply about jumping from a plane. It is about turning fear into fundraising and using one extraordinary day to make a lasting difference to dogs in need."
