Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was reportedly assaulted in a park in Goonhavern.
Officers say the incident happened at the play area on Bridge Road between 10.30am and 10.45am on Sunday 8 June. It was reported a male suspect swore at a child before pinning him down by the neck. When challenged, the man reportedly said he was "restraining the child".
The suspect and the child then left the area together in a red vehicle. Neither has been identified at this stage.
The victim is believed to be around eight years old.
