Newquay thirds win rain-affected final cricket match

Newquay Cricket Club’s third team ended the Cornish League season with a five-wicket victory over Luckett seconds.

The visitors were bowled out for 102 during a rain-affected final weekend of league action.

Charlie Bishop took three wickets for Newquay before contributing 18 runs as the hosts reached their target in 16.4 overs.

The weather prevented the club’s other three teams from playing.

Newquay’s first-team match against Beacon was cancelled, along with the second team’s trip to Launceston and the fourth team’s fixture away at Falmouth.
