This weekend, people in Newquay will get their first look inside the town’s new Methodist Centre.
The Oasis Centre, on Pargolla Road, includes a flexible worship area, rooms for community groups, a large kitchen with a central table area, and outside, a public Reflection Garden with seating and planting. It has been funded by the sale of three former churches and replaces the temporary hub in Nansledan.
The centre will also be the new home of Radio Newquay, with a state-of-the-art studio for the not-for-profit community station, which has been broadcasting for nearly seven years. Reverend Clare Anderson, Newquay Methodist Church Minister, says the vision for the project dates back more than 15 years, and she hopes it will become a hub for both faith and the wider community.
An open day takes place this Saturday between 10-4pm, for anyone wanting to explore the new space.
