Free hedgehog talks offered to youth groups in Newquay area

Youth groups in and around Newquay are being offered free educational sessions about hedgehogs and wildlife conservation.

Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue has received funding to provide 10 talks to groups based in the TR7 and TR8 postcode areas.

The one-hour sessions will teach young people about hedgehogs, the challenges they face and simple steps people and communities can take to help the animals thrive.

The Cornwall-based charity says the sessions are available to organisations including Scouts, Guides, youth clubs, home education groups and after-school groups.

'Places are limited'

Prickles and Paws Hedgehog Rescue is encouraging eligible groups across the Newquay area to apply.

The charity rescues, rehabilitates and releases native British hedgehogs, alongside providing education and encouraging community action to support their conservation.

A total of 10 funded talks are available and will be allocated subject to availability.
