Bristol cadets help transform Newquay childcare charity garden

The group, aged between 18 and 23, are part of an officer training pathway for the Royal Air Force and also serve as reservists. They have been based at RAF St Mawgan while carrying out the community project.

The cadets donated paint and equipment before volunteering their time to improve the garden at the registered charity, which provides childcare for children from birth to five years old, as well as breakfast and after-school clubs.

The project has also been supported by several local businesses, which donated timber, artificial grass, paint and food for the volunteers.

Deputy Manager Mags said: "A big thank you to Acorn Ground and Tree Services, Travis Perkins, Jewson, Morrisons, Flounders and Prow Park for their generosity.

They choose two charities a year to support, and this year they've chosen us."

The cadets also thanked Elouise Cowley, an engineering bursar currently training with the Royal Air Force, for her support with the project.

The improvements will create an enhanced outdoor play and learning space for the children who attend the setting.
