Community Sports Day Celebrating Feast Week in St Mawgan Village

A fun community event which is traditionally part of Feast Week celebrations in the village of St Mawgan. A tradition which has been kept going for 163 years and hopefully many more. Organised wholly by volunteers as a community event open to everyone.

The day starts at 1pm with children's races for ages 0 to 13 years, including collecting races, monkey run, apple ducking, sack race, egg and spoon, plus many more. The event finishes around 5pm with tug o' war and the much-loved pillow fighting!

The event is open to all, and small prizes are available for everyone.

Following a short break, it's the adults' turn in the evening from 6pm with novelty and fun races (mainly teams of 2 or 4) including giant sack, mixed wheelbarrow, giant skis, sack race, mixed hoop, fancy dress, plus many more. The day concludes with tug o' war, pillow fighting, and sheaf pitching.

We do ask for a small donation/entry fee for the adults, so please bring some cash/change. Trophies and small cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of overall points, tug o' war, pillow fighting, and sheaf pitching. We donate some of the proceeds to local groups and charities, so the more we make, the more we can put back into the community.

Light refreshments will be available all day, raffle prizes, and a BBQ from 5pm until finish. It’s a great fun day out for all the family, so please come and take part in this fantastic event. Everyone is welcome!
