Then imagine being attacked by a shark on your home beach. Imagine nearly dying on the beach but after life saving medical care, being able to rebuild your life. Imagine changing your life, to take it into new and fascinating directions, even having a film made about your amazing recovery.
You can hear how one man did exactly this and much more. Brett Connellan is coming to Newquay for one night only, charitable donations to The Wave Project, when you can hear this remarkable story - from Tragedy to Triumph.
