Newquay Rowing Club Bacon and Egg Pie Competition
Sunday, March 24th
The famous annual event takes place on Sunday 24 March and all are welcome to attend, whether entering a pie into the competition or not. Those deciding to enter need to make a pie consisting of bacon and egg and maybe a touch of seasoning and parsley - but not too much. The eggs must be broken into the pie whole, i.e. not whisked up or beaten, so that when the judge cuts a wedge to judge the whole round yolk can be seen. No onion, tomatoes or other fillings, just good ol' bacon and egg. There's a cash prize for the winner but the real prize is the prestige of being able to say "I won the Rowing Club bacon and egg pie competition". Donations after the judging, to be able to sample the pies in the competition, will go towards supporting Children's Hospice South West. Get your pies there by 3pm for judging at 4pm.
Price: Free to enter
