Chill on the Green Festival

Chill on the Green Festival at the Killacourt – Saturday 29 May 2021

Residents of Newquay are invited to attend Newquay Town Council’s “Chill on theGreen Festival” in aid of the Mayor’s Charities of the Year. The event will take place onSaturday 29 May from 1pm – 8pm at the Killacourt in Newquay.

The Chill on the Green festival is Newquay Town Council’s first event on the newlyenhanced Killacourt, which has recently received just under £950,000 of investment.

The Killacourt now features an upgraded bandstand and amphitheatre, accessiblepathways, up-lit seating, an increased amount of usable green space due to theremoval of the white fencing, and a café and Enterprise Units to support local start-upbusinesses.

The Killacourt has long been used as a central events space in Newquay. However,these enhancements will make the area more open and accessible, with a modernperformance space and local artisan businesses that will support and attract morefootfall to events held on the Killacourt.

The Chill on the Green festival will see musicians from Newquay and across Cornwallcome to the Killacourt bandstand to entertain residents and visitors to Newquay. This isa family friendly day and best of all, it is completely free! The fantastic line-up for theday will feature Daisy Clark, Archie Ray, Joe Hurworth, Dr. Funk, Deluxx and TriboGroove. Don’t forget the 12 Enterprise Units will also be open for people to browseclothing, jewellery, artwork, photography, homeware and more.

Newquay Town Council will be raising money for the Mayor’s Charities of the year atthe Chill on the Green festival. The charities will be announced after the Annual CouncilMeeting on Wednesday 19 May 2021.
